DESCRIPTION: EPW - Patek Philippe, Genève, rare tandem-winding trip minute repeater, 47mm, 18K gold OF original PP.Co case with enameled "G G W" initials to its rear, gold cuvette with signature ring bearing marking also for retailer Bohm-Allen Co. of Denver, Colorado, white enamel SS dial, fancy gold Louis XV style hands, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, strike train jeweled to hammers, 33J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#137831 with matching serial number to cuvette signature ring. Gross weight of assembled watch 55.2 dwt (85.9 g). Comes with its original fitted hard wood Patek Philippe box which has its correctly matched serial numbered sticker to its underside and which contains its correctly serial numbered Certificate of Origin as well as two extra mainsprings wrapped in tissue paper. Patek Philippe trip repeaters are very rare and feature a tandem-winding system with the time train barrel wound as the crown is turned in one direction and the repeat train barrel wound as the crown is turned the other direction. Repeat function is activated by depressing a button in the case crown. The rarity of this particular example is further enhanced by the presence of its original box and certificate. In all, a magnificent piece, truly a treat for the Patek Philippe collector!
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good repeat function and tone, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, two small specks of oxide to regulator assembly; dial with hl at 8:30, hl at 9:30, small perimeter hl under bezel at 10:30; nearly mint hands; case shows very little wear, no exterior dents or dings, cuvette with mild ding to lower-center and with two pinpoint protruding dings, rear enameling fully intact with some typical mild surface scratches, front hinge missing an end-cap, markings inside rear lid are rubbed and the typical markings of "PP.Co" and "0.750" are lost to rub; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal; box in nearly mint cosmetic condition overall, exterior with few small nicks, some areas of lacquer loss to front side.
